Capacity: ground-floor – 80 places balcony – 25 places Due to its excellent acoustic, it is used as a concert and recording area and represents a place where marriage ceremonies take place. History: The Castle Chapel represents one of the works by a well-known architect from Prague, Jan Ignác Palliardi. Together with other three buildings – The Riding Hall, Lackeys’ Room and The Stable, it forms an architectonically integral and ingeniously enclosed complex within the castle precincts. The interior of the Chapel, a work by two authors – a sculptor and carver, Ignác Michael Platzer, and a painter, Antonín Tuvora, also forms and integral part of the architecture of the four buildings mentioned. The Chapel is dedicated to Saint Cross. Having been completely reconstructed, The Castle Chapel was opened to the public in 1991. |
